Samba - Learn the Basic Steps
Samba is often danced to some of the more popular music, music with a beat, and it helps if you can let yourself go - it is a flamboyant dance! Below your waist there is a lot of bounce starting from the balls of the feet; above the waist you are poised. Your hands and arms help create a dramatic style. It is very much a demonstrative whole body dance. It is not for the most part a close hold dance, but it is a dance for two keeping touching with the hands, and using them to weave and whirl around each other, at the same time weaving and whirling round the room. You can easily teach yourself to dance Samba using a quality video guide. I would recommend Louis van Amstel's dance course for its clarity and enthusiasm, and because it's available online you can download it now. | |||
